Ich hatte oft Leid erfahren und viel Schmerz,
doch die Liebe hat dies alles gelindert
und erträglich gemacht
Was vergangen kehr nie wieder,
aber ging es leuchtend nieder,
leuchts für die Ewigkeit noch zurück.
Ich wäre noch so gern bei Euch geblieben
denn ihr seit ja meine Lieben
doch Gott bestimmte meine Zeit
und rief mich nach langem Leidensweg in die Ewigkeit.
