This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Merrill Hoggatt who was born in New Mexico on August 14, 1957 and passed away on June 24, 2004 at the age of 46. We will remember him forever. He was the best father and was a best friend to his children. He was taken from us very suddenly after he had back surgery. He was going to go home on the 24th, just 8 hours after he passed. He had sleep apnea and was given 10 medications for pain. The medications he recieved were ones that he was not supposed to have and that were not supposed to be mixed and the care at the hospital was terrible. He usually slept with a breathing machine , but the nurses failed to hook him up to it. After he passed away, we were told an autopsy would be done and that because it was a mysterious death, a toxicology report would be done, however, the toxicology report was not done and my fathers samples were destroyed, this was after we had called and requested that they keep the samples and they told us that they are required to keep the samples for 6 months. It is sad for all of us that loved him dearly that our father, our brother and our friend was taken like this, and we feel robbed that we still have no answers. We feel helpless and are trying to find someone to help us. The hospital is St Johns and it is in Tulsa, Ok . He had the best sense of humor. Anyone that knew him knew that he could make anyone laugh or cheer anyone up. He was one of the smartest people that I knew and anytime I had a question about anything, He would be the first one that I would call. He left behind 4 daughters and 1 son. Serah Sanderson, Kerah Blackburn, Kristen Hoggatt, Kyle Hoggatt and Kaci Hoggatt. His girlfriend Gracie Mcgraw. His brother Staci Hoggatt and his grandchildren Dillion and Dalton Sanderson ,and Heather and Hayley Blackburn. He will live on in all of us and I know that he will never be forgotten.
