Brothers and Sisters, we came to know The Ugly One as the only fish not loved enough to have a name. He was pretty ugly. He might have even been a she. We are unsure. What we are sure of is that sometime during the early morning hours of January 7th, 2006, he or she was brutally murdered and devoured by his well-fed tankmates.
We will mourn his death by buying another suckerfish, so that it may continue The Ugly One's legacy of clinging to the side of the tank and not moving for hours on end, sucking algae off the plexiglass. This was The Ugly One's favorite activity, after all, aside from hiding in the fake cave and sucking on the filter.
Rest In Peace, Ugly One.
